So this post is slightly belated, but never late than never am I right?
I went to see The 1975 at the end of January at Sheffield Arena and it was insane. I was dead excited as they’re a band I’ve wanted to see for a long time. You know those bands/artists where you forget how much you like them until you whack one of their albums on? To me, The 1975 were one of them.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to an arena gig, I think the last one I went to was Drake at the O2 in 2017. I’ve been to a lot of gigs since but in smaller, more intimate venues. Most have been local to me in Nottingham, I went to Liverpool to see Jorja Smith last year. Me and a mate drove there and back in a day, it was about a 7 hour round trip. Totally worth it. She’s fabulous.
The 1975 gig was so much more than I expected, everything about the night was UNREAL. First of all our seats were mint, we were sat down the side in the middle. The set was bloody amaze mate, Matty was on a giant treadmill whilst they performed Sincerity Is Scary. Actual workout goals. I’ll admit that ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ isn’t my fave album of theirs, but they played all the hits from all 3 albums. We sang all night, the vibe was bloody brilliant. It was a night I’m not going to forget to a long ode time.
Whilst we’re here, I may as well share the outfit I wore on the night. I always dress differently depending on the genre of music I’m off to see, it’s not intentional but I love choosing a gig outfit.
I was going to charity shop these culottes a couple of months ago, I’m glad I didn’t as I always seem to wear them now. They’re handy to chuck on on a bloated or comfy day, you feel me gals?
