Social media is amazing, our friends are family are at our fingertips. We can contact people whenever we wish, but some things about social media have become predictable and sometimes boring.

We’ve all seen the sunset photos with the caption ‘#nofilter’ or read the statuses of your mums friend bragging about being laid on a bright white beach on a Monday morning instead of being sat in the office. Calm down Sandra, you’ll be back in the office next week.

Sometimes, like now, I struggle to find the benefits of social media, more so Instagram. I go on my phone in my lunch break and before I know it lunch is over and I’ve spent the whole time in a ‘scroll hole’ not absorbing anything I’ve spent the time staring at. It feels mind numbing.

After feeling so frustrated, I’ve taken the decision to step away and go cold turkey… For now. So I’ve logged out and deleted the apps. Bye Felicia.

I’m not sure what I’m expecting from the hiatus but I hope to be less distracted, more productive and more present. Updates to follow.

Love, Fiery Goddess. X

2018 was one of the best years of my life so far. I travelled new places, met some fab people, launched Fiery Goddess, did a couple of festivals and made more memories with my favourite gal pals! I’m feeling really positive about 2019 and what it’s going to bring.

Here’s some highlights of 2018…

Travel: Budapest and Thailand
My parents took me to Budapest last January for my 21st it was amazing! Then went to Thailand on my own in June, I met people when I was out there and it was one of the most incredible experiences! Would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Festivals: Parklife and Lost Village
It was my second year at Parklife and first at Lost Village. I’m hoping to be back at Lost Village again this year, everything about it is amazing and it’s only down the road from me which is so convenient!

Fiery Goddess was born
I finally started up this blog after thinking about it for ages, I kept letting go of the idea after thinking about what others would say/think! One day I just bit the bullet and I’m so glad I did, it’s my own little space on the internet to share stories about my travels and groovy fashion finds.

City breaks and gig dates: Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, London
Going off on a city break with my mates is one of my favourite things to do, along with a gig date! Last year I saw Jorja Smith, Tom Grennan and Mahalia to name a few. I’ve already got a couple of city breaks and gigs sorted for this year which is dead exciting!

What are your highlights of 2018?!
